What should I do about my boyfriend? Should I end it?

Not sure what to do about my BF. Things were going really great until he left for a 3-wk business trip. He was very distant and disengaged when he left and the 1st time he called was 8 days later, only after I sent him a note asking where he's been. He called and apologized profusely, said it would never happen again, and asked if we could still date. I accepted his apology, said I understand that his project requires all of his attention, but very confused by how he could just disappear like that, so need some time to think about it. (How much effort does it take to send a quick text to someone?) We were supposed to meet for a 3-day getaway at the end of his trip, but I asked if we could postpone it. He was understanding and we agreed to just catch up when he returns this weekend. That's how we left things. At this point I'm not sure I want to keep dating him. It seems like he's not that into me. . . . How do YOU read the situation? What would YOU do?
