Generalization: are girls emotional wrecks or are guys too insensitive?

These past few months - almost a year so far i've been in a serious relationship with my now fiancee who i love more than anything. It took this relationship for me to see the behaviors my friends always complain about with their boyfriends. The ignoring, not calling, wanting other people..etc..etc.. I am by far the LEAST emotional person I know but when all of this happens to me I feel extremely sad. It hurts me when my fiancee ignores me or acts annoyed with me and looks at other women and doesnt only want me. I know that if things wouldnt work out there is someone in the world who could give me what i want... i will admit i am NEEDY but i have a horrible past and have been through a lot, but im not too emotional. I hear all the time how guys are insensitive, and conversely how women are emotional and bitches at their worst. These stereotypes seem almost true? I cant help but wonder if I'm wrong and girls everywhere are wrong. If we're too emotional or if guys simply need to change so they can treat us right. It hurts so bad and he doesn't even care.
