Are metal bands with brothers as band mates, DOOMED?

i think most metal bands are doomed just for being metal. dont get me wrong, i have nothing against metal, i dont personally enjoy it, but i have nothing against it. it just seems to me that the majority of the population likes stuff besides metal, so to become a successful metal band you have to be really good, and even when you are, you won't ever be as famous or popular as other genres of music, just because of the type of music you play. which is really tragic because most metal bands are really talented, just not my type of music.
