Anyone know anything about this?

me and some friends were staying at point pleasant. the other night we had the crap scared out of us by some local pranksters. i was doing some work on a laptop, around 6ish in the afternoon, when I opened the shutters to get some light into the room. Right at the window was a guy in a costume with a black beak! I freaked the **** out and backed away asap. he (or she for all i know) started flapping mini-wings attached to the suit and I slammed the door of my room behind me. I felt like my heart was going to explode. I called my friends and we quickly locked all the doors. we picked up the phone to call the police, but the phone just kept on making obscure 'caw'ing sounds. we were walked around the house (interior, no way I was going outside) checking it was secure when 2 of my friends screamed and said they saw some kind of bird/vampire thing with red eyes! wtf? does anyone know anything about this, do they celebrate haloween at a different time of year down there?
